Group Therapy

This is a form of therapy in which a group of clients participate with a therapist. When determining these groups, it is taken into account that individuals have similar psychological difficulties and/or goals. Unlike individual therapy, group psychotherapy is a process in which not only the client interacts with the therapist but also with other clients. In this form of therapy, the therapist evaluates not only the individual dynamics of the clients but also the group dynamics.

There are some advantages to working with more than one client in group psychotherapy. First of all, while clients discover themselves through interactions within the group, they also have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others and see themselves through their eyes. In addition, since the participants are together with other individuals who have similar problems, they find a unique sharing area; they can feel more understood and supported. Besides, group members can gain awareness by giving constructive feedback to each other.
